All About Hip Pain

Pranic Healing excels in addressing issues of pain, particularly joint pain for example, in the shoulders, hips and knees.  Not only is the physiology of these joints complicated, the energetics are as well, and a little imbalance can show up as what we know as physical symptoms.    Fortunately, these imbalances can be effectively corrected using the protocols in Pranic Healing, and as the body has stronger, more stable energy in that area, the healing process is accelerated.

Sometime the imbalance in the hip, for example, is a result of a blockage somewhere else in the body, like in the knee, ankle, or foot.  I see this a lot in my practice. The idea is that the energy of the leg has a rhythm or flow that it expresses in an optimum healthy state.  When that flow is impeded, the energy has a tendency to back up and get stuck.  This back-up can reach and impact the hip … kind of like a bathtub that isn’t draining. The water gets backed up and stagnant.   So in that situation, the hip symptoms are secondary to a foot energy imbalance.  This is why it is important for your healer to have a good sense of the energy and be able to assess where things are balanced and where things are out of balance.  Very much like a cause-and-effect.

It’s also possible that hip pain can be a result of purely physical cause.  For example, the physical structure of the foot could benefit from support insoles.  Or the legs could be different lengths, again, benefiting from physical remedy.  Or the spine could be out of alignment.  These are all examples of hip pain that would benefit more from physical intervention, rather than energy healing, because the causation is not energetic, it is physical. Of course, there are many reasons people experience hip pain, and it is essential that a proper diagnosis is obtained so the Pranic Healer can use the appropriate protocol.

One way to keep the energy of your legs flowing is to engage in a regular grounding or “earthing” practice.  It’s basically a visualization technique that has a direct effect on your energy, helping it flow where it might have been stuck before.  First, being barefoot is helpful, as rubber soles or leather shoes have a tendency to insulate or block your energy.  Next, you can visualize or imagine being on a beach with your toes in the sand, maybe even being out in the saltwater up to your knees.  Or, if you prefer, you can visualize yourself in the woods, with roots (like tree roots) coming out of the sole of your foot, going about 10’ into the ground.  Maybe these roots are golden in color.  Your choice.

When we do these exercises in class, we scan to evaluate which technique is more effective, and the student focuses on that as part of their daily practice.  Until you can join us in a class, maybe you can pick whichever one feels the best for you.  Good luck and best of health to you!
