The energetics of our homes and offices are often overlooked in the healing context, but are actually a critically important container of our healing journey. This is the domain of Pranic Feng Shui.
Pranic Feng Shui is the art and science of environmental energy. We are swimming in an ocean of energy; and just like a fish in an aquarium, the invisible qualities of that water (temperature, speed, salinity, pH) are enormously important for the fish. For us, the invisible qualities of the energy that surrounds us and fills our home and office are critically important for our healing, our prosperity, and our loving relationships. The direction of the front door, the bed, the desk and stove can either energetically support or inhibit the energy of people living in that residence. Different features of the architecture as well as the art and other contents in the room can strengthen or weaken the energy that is supposed to support us.
Read MorePranic Healing excels in addressing issues of pain, particularly joint pain for example, in the shoulders, hips and knees. Not only is the physiology of these joints complicated, the energetics are as well, and a little imbalance can show up as what we know as physical symptoms. Fortunately, these imbalances can be effectively corrected using the protocols in Pranic Healing, and as the body has stronger, more stable energy in that area, the healing process is accelerated.
Sometime the imbalance in the hip, for example, is a result of a blockage somewhere else in the body, like in the knee, ankle, or foot. I see this a lot in my practice. The idea is that the energy of the leg has a rhythm or flow that it expresses in an optimum healthy state. When that flow is impeded, the energy has a tendency to back up and get stuck. This back-up can reach and impact the hip … kind of like a bathtub that isn’t draining. The water gets backed up and stagnant. So in that situation, the hip symptoms are secondary to a foot energy imbalance. This is why it is important for your healer to have a good sense of the energy and be able to assess where things are balanced and where things are out of balance. Very much like a cause-and-effect.

But think about this: stress reduces the activity of our pre-frontal cortex. That’s an pretty important part of executive functioning. How would you like to have that be more available? Would that greater capacity help handle the overwhelm?
Meditation on Twin Hearts is a guided, loving-kindness meditation, that is the foundation of a self-care practice. On the energetic level, Meditation on Twin Hearts increases heart energy, which increases capacity for loving kindness. This same process helps lift depression, helps clear us of agitation and irritability.
Read MoreOur emotional body is like water.
You’ve probably heard the story about our emotional life being like the contents of a cup that we hold. If we are holding a cup of coffee and someone bumps our arm, we get splattered with coffee. When someone “bumps” into us (emotionally), whatever is in our ‘cup’ comes spilling out. Fear, anger, compassion, selflessness, low self-esteem, those are the contents of the cup. The contents of the emotional body.
The practice of mindfulness helps us look into the cup and see what is there. That’s a good first step. Taking an inventory and becoming aware. Because the process of awareness is what begins to transition things from subconscious to conscious. We become aware of the good, the bad and the ugly. And that’s a helpful process. But don’t stop there …
Read MoreLife is a journey … and when we go on Journeys — like when we go on a vacation to a new place — we often come to learn things about that destination, the people, the logistics, which restaurants were great, which hotels were not so great, that sort of thing. When we find out that somebody else is going to that same location on vacation, what is our natural tendency? Our inclination is to offer to share what we’ve learned to make that person’s experience easier.
Same thing with a healing journey, which sometimes becomes a spiritual journey. As we explore, we find out that other people have done a similar journey already and have come back with information about what really works. We call those people spiritual teachers (or gurus). On some level, a spiritual teacher is like a travel agent who can tell you about this ‘foreign land’ of the inner world — the spiritual world — the amazing places to go, what’s not so great to do, and what to avoid! (this part is very important*).
