It feels like we are undergoing a renaissance of sorts here at home. We finally got rid of the pool table (= dinosaur energy block) in the basement. With diligence and patience, it only took 1 ½ years of awareness, reflection and persuasion for my husband to agree to get rid of it. Once it was gone, we experienced an amazing opening of space and possibilities. We are now turning the previously unused pool table area into a deluxe home theater space. Much better application of half of our downstairs space.
Apparently getting rid of the pool table somehow made this next step much easier. Our old projection TV upstairs on the main level was unused for years, in fact, since everything turned digital. In a very nostalgic way, it just sat there, still functional for DVD, just not relevant for anything else. It was hard for me to throw it out because it still worked … just not for TV stations. I rationalized that for a while, that we really didn’t watch TV at all, but we still watched DVD’s … then not so much even DVD’s anymore. So I did some self work on releasing, letting go of attachments … and now it is out the door (of course being recycled)! Getting rid of this TV opened up a huge spaciousness and improved energetic flow in the room. We rearranged the furniture into a much more comfortable and relevant seating area, without the massive TV distraction. As a result, the rest of the floor plan is shifting as well: opening up the entire floor into a much better traffic pattern.
Next was my office. For years, I felt obligated to have the traditional position of “desk facing the door” arrangement because it was a “power position” and I thought that was how it should be. As a result, the space was tight, with narrow passageways and feeling really claustrophobic. I decided to pay attention to what made me feel better (rather than what was “supposed to be” better) and moved my desk against the wall so I can see out the window, which is what I’ve always preferred. Again (we are seeing a pattern here, right?) this created a big opening, spaciousness, and much better energy for working. I actually like being in the room now. Things are happening easier, smoother work flow, better organization, increased focus = more efficient work. Win win.
What’s stuck for you? If there is something stuck physically in your house, there is probably something energetically stuck in your life. And vica versa. You can approach the situation by tackling the physical or the energetic first. Either way, one affects the other, and you win!
